Welcome to Taiwan! :)

I could not believe the day (to Taiwan) has came and I was kinda nervous as this was my first time going to overseas ALONE! I thought Tatt will fly over to accompany me initially but he said it will be more convenience for him to meet up in Taipei directly. And I was so so so anticipating this trip!
Eva Air. I wondered how their service like?
To my surprise, I was given a Deluxe seat although my flight ticket was an economic class. This was my first time to get this kind of compliment after flying for several times. The person who sat next to me was an old mixed man who is headed to Washington. He shared loads of his experiences and stories with me along the way . Luckily, there's someone to talk to, or else, for sure I might bored to death! Here's the view of Kuala Lumpur, greenery view as usual. Bye bye, K.L.! Taiwan, I'm coming!
To spend your 4 and a half hours of flight wisely, besides watching TV or listening songs, another alternative is writing a letter or postcard. Hmm...not sure whether Ming and Koh will receive the letter/postcard or not.
Second compliments from Eva Air. Look at the postcard above and the picture I've taken below, so coincidence that they look like the same one!Wow, amazing!
Proven taken by me with the reflection from the window hehe ;p
Doing survey on Taiwan historical famous places.
Me at Boeing 747 ;>

Magnificent night view of Taipei...OMG, I'm here, here in Taiwan (shout out loud)! Damn excited! (Finally made it all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Taipei alone) Anyway, Eva Air has really good service and the air stewardess were polite, friendly and pretty! Most of all, they were patient enough compare to the others airlines I gone through before. Bravo to Eva!
1st day- It was late at night when I arrived in Tao Yuan, Taipei. Without wasting our time, we rushed to meet up our friends and had a reunion in Belly-Wash. Although it was quite packed, but I found the environment was relaxing enough to hangout.

2nd day-My 1st place to visit, the hottest spot, Xi Men Ding.

The weather was cooling here and it was still acceptable by me. While busy exploring and sight-seeing, I found something hilarious on this van! Click enlarge to see what it written. (If you don't know chinese, don't hesitate to ask me k?)

1st station, Modern Toilet, let's see what's it is *exciting mode*
Surprisingly, it appeared to be a quite small size of restaurant, said around 10 tables or lesser. But, its uniqueness of the combination toilet and bathroom as a restaurant with cheerful and colourful environment would attract new customers like us. Anyone wants to renovate their dining room to be like this?
Wanna try this?

Too wasted to sit on this beeautiful lady (blush).
My cute toilet bowl meal
Afterall, it was not as disgusting as we though at first.
Tatt was looking at his black edition of toilet bowl and can't wait to taste it!

Eating ice-cream at toilet bowl, a compliment from the TOILET ;p
Mee sua, the tastiest one so far.
You could easily find at Xi Men Ding for this rice-noodle.
The happening Xi Men Ding :) Love this place loads, shopping paradise and where all the hip and cool youngsters gather around.
I-forget-its-name :P It was a theatre if not mistaken.

Unique postcards! Besides the old traditional way of keeping postcard, you can actually fold the postcard and transforms to a building! How creative it is! It's a good way to keep it as a decoration.
Closer look of the postcard

3rd day- I love to have this 'fan tuan' as my breakfast. You could easily get it from Family Mart or 7-eleven.
We've tried the Japanese food which is located nearby our place. Hmm, looked like Chinese food to me.
Woops! I was too hungry!
Dear's favourite. I think what I eat the most in Taiwan is tofu-fah~
Red bean soup in a paper cup
Me at Jing Mei, was having my breakfast, still at very happy mood :)
Taiwan's Toto?
Angpau of Toto with best of luck
After having our breakfast, we departed from Jing Mei railway station to Dan Shui, which taken an hour ++ to reach the destination. Along the way, I've taken several pics of the journey. I found that most of the houses/buildings I've seen are old type, not as modern as in KL.
Finally, we reached Dan Shui, a place where Jay grown up :)

The bunch of carefree primary students (in blue).
Me and the colourful hand-painted wall.
Once upon time... there's a fellow called Jay Chow used to visit this restaurant during his school days...
He loved to order 'wantan mee' and...
drumstick...which made this both meal called Jay Chow set meal today (^.^)

This was my 'sword', cost me RM1 only (damn cheap!Unfortunately, not tasty at all!Sigh)
My all-time favourite host, Hou Pei Chen used to come to this tiny little ice-cream stall with Yan-Zhi too.

Yummy fresh strawberries covered with sweet honey!~

Wish I could bring all these puppies back! So adorable!
Found this emergency button whenever I got into the MRT station washrooms, exclusively for ladies only. I just so envy the facilities provided coz' the government so well-cared the residents' needs.
Mister Donut, franchise from Japan
Wow! First time seeing these kind of donuts!
Tatt's green tea flavour donut

Mine choco flavour
Busy street at Dan Shui
Taiwan's biggest worm, have you seen before?
Here, it is!
Eww...no name creature *disgusting*
Trying to show off with my cigarattes ("p)
Me in front of Peter The Rabbit shop, originated in London, UK.
Love this cute little candy shop, bought several candies from here! You will find some unexpected surprises *wink*
It was merely sour plum drink (don't fool by the shop sign)
Henry's House--you could find any handcraft or handmade things of cats and quite unique though.

???What a good translation! hehe
Bye bye! We were heading to Yu Ren Ma Tou.Reached there by boat around half an hour.
I personally thoughtPutrajaya bridge was nicer ;p
I wondered how good one day I have my own private boat.
'Ah Gei' & homemade giant fishballs
Different spicy level of snails Had a lot of fried food when came here~
Small little old shop which survived for 40 years, geng!

4th day-Tatt was busy finalizing his dissertation, left me alone exploring the rest of Taipei streets. I have no idea where to go so just simply dropped by and walking down the street.

'"Taipei bridge is falling down...falling down..."
Looks like it's going to rain, so I better go back to Jing Mei earlier, ended my dont-know-where-to-go journey.

Ruo Qin's Shi Xin University (I went to their pc lab and online once, time was too short for me to get into their classes hehe)
Arrived at Taipei Zoo station, before heading to Mao Kong. However, due to the super duper long queue, we decided to go to Sheng Keng for a tofu tour!
The famous smelly tofu in Sheng Keng. Ironicly, people rather queue up for this famous tofu rather than the next stall which was also selling tofu just beside it. No people buy at all!
Ummm...looking good and mouth-watering~
The old tofu street
Look, what I've discovered. Keke :D
Tofu ice-cream, came with cutie packaging *so sinful to have it* ;p
The original flavour
Tofu cake, Tatt bought one of it, taste like kuih-muih ;p
Another product of tofu, contained of yam.
Taiwan hotdogs~
Group pic with friends :)

5th day-My breakfast (forgot its actual name), taste a bit like roti canai.Soya, my all time favourite.

Too bad, the underground train not yet arrived at the moment I took the pic...
At art gallery?Nope! It was at the underground metro station of Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall station and was the only station that filled with beautiful paintings decorated.
5 star hotel?
So which way to start first?
Tatt said the lake is like a painting, beautifully drawn.
A great view of Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall.

:) Too bad they were having some renovations at that point.

Former President Chiang's bullet proof car.

Well-polished than new cars!

Chiang & Soong, their married picture.

Expensive xiu loong bao, cost around RM30-RM40. Eventually, we wanted to eat the recommended's shop that we found somewhere in Taipei street. But again, the shop is flooded with a lots of people so we ended up in an ordinary restaurant.

Tan-tan mee, quite special to me as I never taste it before!

Underground 2nd hand books store ( if I stayed in Taiwan, this will be definitely one of my favourite hangout place!)

Imma book lover ;p

Besides books, you can purchase antiques at here too!

The election candidate was aware enough when I was snapping a picture of her, hehe, cute!

Hardly found a 'Malaysian-styled' cuisine =/

I found this eye-catching cafe/restaurant, though it's not as grand as others, but it simply made me have some kind of warmth feeling.
We found this modern building while on our way searching the Japanese street.

Unaware of it, it is actually a church!Wow!

Mixed fruits ice. Rating: 6/10
So-called pepper biscuit. One thing I noticed that Taiwanese were really patient to queue up just to buy their local food. Tatt had a long queue just to get this 'biscuit', luckily the taste not bad though :)
'National Politics University'?!(not sure the english name)

Selina's university?-'Shi Da Xuan Yuan'
Choco apples! It's so sinful to have them:P (found them at Shi Da night market)

It was so cold at Taipei. Luckily we found one shabu shabu @ underground. Felt so warm to have them!

My fresh delicious salmon *yummy*

6th day-Taiwan chicken rice. I still found Malaysia's chicken rice the best and the cheapest.
Finally, I can experience countdown of new year live in Taiwan and first time celebrating my birthday at oversea!*Yippie* I was on top of the world that night heehee :P

Err...I forgot who was the singer already but I love the background!

Fish Leong on stage. I was a lil' bit proud of that since she was the only Malaysian performer during that night.

Frankly, Energy was not as popular and welcome as before.
That was Lan Xin Mei, super host in Taiwan.

'Da Zhui Ba'(Big Mouth) brought up the atmosphere! Cool!
Mayday! I was fortunate to see their LIVE performance, somemore was in Taipei! They were superb and have performed for about 45 minutes. Awesome!
I jealous her ! >.<
101 Taipei
1,2,3 Happy New Year!
The magnificient fireworks, beautiful indeed!
Looks like the 101 on fire hehe:P
Tatt and I :)
It's 2008! New year, new resolution!
And yeah, I'm 22 this year ;) 1st time celebrated birthday @ oversea with love one :>

7th day- 1st Jan, 2008: Gu Gong. A must go place when you came to Tawian! We were lucky enough to get free entrance, but Gu Gong was too huge to look around plus we were short of time.

Special perforamance by the clowns. Funny though!
Strawberry milk ice. Rating 10/10! Damn delicious I would say. Found this when we were in Shi Lin Night Market.

You can see all this fun fair in the night market. It's really different from our local one.You can have so much fun at there! But of course, your money will lost faster too.

I definitely think Shi Lin was the most happening night market after I went several ones in Taipei. The night market has divided into few sections included food & clothes, japan/korea culture clothings, funfair and pets. I saw a teddy dog, yup really called teddy dog in chinese, super duper cute like a teddy toy! It just costs you RM1.5K, which I feel cheap compare to Malaysia. Felt like bringing one back, but sigh, I didn't have enough money! And...and I was not allowed to take any pics of the teddy dogs, luckily still can show some goldfish pic.
It just reminded some farmiliar scene in HK series hehe
We just enjoying ourselves by seeing others playing the game ;P
Soong Chang Ting's cute version (candidate for Taiwan president election).

Mr. Ma, all the best to you!

8th day-Road heading to Yang Min Shan

Several hot spots in Yang Ming

Look at the description. Tatt said it was so well written and even better than China's one! Impressed! But the fact is...

Hehe ...take a pic as memory

It's some kind of sulfur who cause all this smoke comes out from the mountain.
I looked stunned...because...

It's freezing cold!Only 5 degree celcius ~

View of Yang Ming Shan, enjoy!
I didn't go futher as I really can't stand the cold weather and I was scared of a few very active wild dogs, so Tatt went alone and here some pictures he took.
The path on top of hills
A pond?
Who knows, at the end I just realised the so-called wild dogs belonged to a man =.=""

Entered to Wen Hua University, it was amazingly beautiful. Wished my campus was like that! Fresh cooling air with lake view and surrounded by gigantic mountain, no more excuse for you to 'cut class'!

It looked more to a commercial building for me rather than a school.

OMG!You called that a study room?Wow! Seem like a very good comfortable place for us to do some revision *Wink wink*

Their computer rooms were so modern designed! Unlike us... =/ "palia"

I thought I entered to a shopping mall's foodcourt but in fact it was a student's canteen. Woah!

Cuttle fish custard, it's really delicious!
Entered to one of the biggest night market in Taipei, Hua Xi Night Market. Got this chinatown feeling/ Petaling Street hehe;p
In Hua Xi, most of the stalls were selling food and food!
Ewww...I dare not try!

Yummy!*Saliva falling*

9th day- KAKAKAKA!*Evil laugh* Years ago, I saw TVBS introduced Jay's restaurant and thought that how good one day I dropped by to have a meal in his restaurant. After don't know how many years, my wish finally come true. Thanks to dear :*

I saw this shop sign from far. Tatt was amazed I've got a good eyesight. LOL. This only applicable to Jay's charm :P

The J menu--French Italian cuisine
The restaurant was kinda small, out of my expectation. But most of the restaurants in Taipei were not have so much space as in M'sia.
Smile happily, felt like I was in a dream! heehee ^.<
Chicken soup

Tatt's salad

My seafood sphagetti, looks good, taste even better!*thumbs up*

Tatt's steak *taste good*
In the washroom :P

Hero Jay :P

Fang Wen Shan -_-"

Yu Hao, Nan Quan Mama

Jay and ???
That's all for Mr. J's restaurant, not sure when will visit it again but I really really had a great time at there :>

Surprisingly, saw Lena huge poster. Wow, seductive!

Taiwan buildings mostly were quite old and averagely not that tall. But, the street was always clean!
In the city
Another cute shop I've found! The accessories sold were very expensive. One bracelet cost you RM300 and above! *fainted* but the items all were unique and hardly found in M'sia.

Cute artistic display

Saw the travel guide book recommended this taufu shop, let's see what they offered...

Strawberry taufu-fah! Have you eaten before?*Superb*

Gondola, way to Mao Kung ;)
Look at the small cute white gondolas
View from gondola-No wonder Taipei rental was so high, seem like it was getting lesser and lesser place to stay in the near future!
Beautiful scene @ Taipei

Tea leaves fried rice

No matter which restaurant you found in Mao Kung, you could easily see the magnificient view of Taipei :) A cool yumcha place indeed ;)

10 day- Hot spot-Jiu Fen (let the pictures say the rest)
Arrived at Jin Gua Shi, time to dig gold!

Inside the gold mind tunnel

There was some explaination regarding how the workers dig the gold during the old days.

Beautiful greenery view, made me felt mind-relaxing and carefree.

We walked till opposite from Jin Gua Shi. Looked at the mountain, the rocks, creation of God, amazingly, incredibly beautiful.
Here we go, heading to Jiu Fen.

Taken along the way we walked from Jin Gua Shi, quite far though. My legs were aching at the moment due to wearing heels =/ Anyway, Tatt took a courage move that we walked from Jin Gua Shi to Jiu Fen, initially there was bus to take us there, but he said we should experience the journey ourselves. Luckily and finally, we did not lost! hehe

View from Jiu Fen, greenery scene, fresh and crisp air, and a cooling place to stay indeed!

Street of commercialized. They were real good in promoting and selling their products etc. p.s. I looked like a panda.

Sounds like 'baka' in japanese*evil smile*

Bamboo feel restaurant, place for you to have some hot tea in this cold winter.

Love this simple yet modern designed motel :) I guess it's kinda expensive to stay in.

At last, we found some place which we called non-commercialized.

Looked tired in front of the hostel. (Sorry, you might found I kept taking hostel/motel pictures but I just simply love to snap and don't know why)

Mist, oh mist! How good if all this mist gone away so I can have a clearer capture of the view.Hmmm...

So what's your choice of motel?
'Bei Shang Cheng Shi'--the Taiwanese well-known director, Hou Xiao Xian used to use this restaurant as one of his scene in his movie.

It reminded me of 'Ta Hung Deng Lung Gao Gao Kua', a famous chinese series.

The old abundant cinema. It was used to be very famous among the citizens.

Very oriental feel restaurants, as though we were back to our grandparents' generation.
Another kind of hostel, averagely RM80 and above per night for an individual.

Ah Mei's restaurant? I like this scene anyway :)

Creepy cave, it was a restaurant!

Poetic shop sign

Tanglungs in the Yu Yuan shop

As usual, taiwanese always good in packaging and marketing, mostly influenced by the Japanese's culture.

Colourful Yu Yuan

Motel for backpackers

Too bad there's mist when we were in Jiu Fen. The place was really nice to travel, coz' there were a lot of nice food for you to enjoy!

Look at the fishballs, bigger than ping pong ball ;p

Fishball soup

My meal when flying back to Msia...time past fast huh

Finally, I've got to see 'Heartbreak Kid'... in the plane.

Strawberry ice-cream, thanks to Eva Air ~
There are so many choices of cosmectic in Watson! These are the cosmetics that you can't get at here.

Bought my favourite clothes mostly at 'Wu Fen Pu' & 'Shi Lin Night Market'.
Almost can't bring them home. I squeezed and squeezed into my luggage, luckily the material won't crease yet, hehe.

Bought them from candy shop. Amazingly, Taiwanese are really creative!*Salute*

Shoes mania! Sport shoes, a must-buy in Taiwan! The price is really much lower compare to Malaysia and of course they are original.

Taiwan gifts for my buddies ;>

Instant mee for my colleagues~
Mee Eraser...Not meant to eat okay hehe :P
That's all for now!
